Revealing Interview with Rob’s Cosmopolis Co-star Patrica Mackenzie

cosmo patricia Mack

After fans on Robsessed voted the sex scene between the man Eric and Kendra in Cosmopolis Robert Pattinson’s Best Sex Scene of 2012 they contacted Patrica and were lucky enough to be granted an interview. Here”s a little bit of the interview but follow the links for the rest. Hold on to your panties ladies, this could get rather steamy!

ROBsessed: What was your diet like to prepare for the physically demanding scene?
Patricia McKenzie: Sadly, I kind of peaked before we shot. I had done a three week detox some months before, looked lean for a bit, and figured I’d do it again in time for the love scene. That scene ended up being pushed up a month early so in the three days I had to prepare, I did a partial juice fast, cut down on solid foods, and drank lots of water, just to feel like I was doing something. In the end, I don’t think diet really mattered, and in my experience as an actor, no one ever seems to care about any extra pounds on me or anyone else. What an actor is expressing is far more important and interesting to watch than how flat their tummy is.

ROBsessed: Did you and Rob collaborate with David for the scene?
McKenzie: We had a rehearsal on set that morning to try some things, but finally David decided we would do the whole scene while making love, and all in one take which was quite a challenge. My first career was as a dancer, where you rehearse for 8 weeks before stepping onstage. Now, I’m always amazed at how much we as actors have to bring to the table, and be ready to improvise, and how fast the director has to think on his feet to orchestrate it all.

ROBsessed: Is Xanax prescribed for the day to calm nerves? I’m joking ;) kind of
McKenzie: It would have been tempting to have wine before the scene! One of the first film acting jobs I ever had was laced with highly erotic content, and I was young, naive, and an absolute prude. To get through the love scenes they had to ply me with red wine and the director promised me, on the life of her children, that I wouldn’t be ashamed of the result. She was an angel, and in hindsight, the scene was very tame. The relationship of an actor to a director is crucial, you have to put all of your faith in their vision, so what made the intimacy in Cosmopolis really easy for me was that I trusted David completely. Rob was a sweetheart as well, very supportive and very professional. From a holistic standpoint, to mentally prepare for an intense day on set, deep breathing saves me every time, as well as a mantra not to judge myself positively or negatively, just to be. “Express, don’t impress” is my aspiration.

ROBsessed: How many takes did you have to do because the shot is fairly long and uninterrupted. Was it difficult to be so wordy with such a physical scene?
McKenzie: It was a long, sweaty day, but I like being physical, and I like the heightened awareness everyone has on set during a love scene. Those days have a very different energy from the other days. Yeah, it was lots of fun and a delightful challenge to deal with unconventional dialogue in the heat of passion. I have played various lesbians on Canadian shows for years, so it was a nice change to be partnered with Rob.

Anna Kendrick to Star in Zack Braff’s Wish I Was Here ?

anna k scott pilgrim

Anna Kendrick, who not long ago was considered a frontrunner for the job of Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, will appear in Wish I Was Here, the film that Zach Braff will direct following his successful-but-controversial Kickstarter campaign to finance it.

“She has a screen presence so strong you just can’t take your eyes off of her. That… is a movie star,” Braff said. “I love her. I am thrilled to announce she will be joining us to play Janine, a young woman who’s into Cosplay that my brother (Josh Gad) becomes smitten by…”.

Updates for “Maps to the Stars”.

maps to the starts

eOne Films have released updated information regarding David Cronenberg’s “Maps to the Stars”, which stars our very own Robert Pattinson.

Plot Summary

Led by the loathsome yet funny and touching child-star Benjie, we witness the convoluted world of shallow, selfish celebrities and their minions, all of whom are about to be manipulated and destroyed by the young woman who literally represents the fruit of their twisted machinations, Agatha, Benjie’s tormented, apparently psychotic sister. As much as it is a sharp, comic look at a vacant and corrupt world, MAPS TO THE STARS is also a haunting ghost story.

Cast

Julianne Moore
Robert Pattinson
John Cusack
Mia Wasikowska
Olivia Williams
Evan Bird

Bryce Dallas Howard Reveals her Guilty Secrets and Talks Being a Cast as a Villian – New Interview.

14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala - Backstage

Eclipse actress, Bryce Dallas Howard (Victoria) spoke out to Huffington Post for their #nofilter interview where she revealed her guilty pleasures – which happens to be watching The Kardashians, if she has any tattoos and which actresses she admires the most.

Do you find that people judge you because of the sometimes-evil characters you play?
No, I actually never have. I think because I have a really obvious dorky personality [laughs] and those characters, they’re villains and they’re quite aloof. Like in high school, I won most spastic. So I’m pretty dorky and spastic and so it sort of … there’s no way I could come off like a cool customer, like any of those characters.

Which female star do you admire?
There’s A LOT. I mean they’re the obvious ones, like Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon, Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, but I have so much respect for so many of the actresses in my generation. And there are a lot of young actresses right now, like Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone, who I just think are powerhouses and I worship. I just feel really lucky, as an actress it’s a very full, creative time, especially with television — there are so many remarkable female protagonists. I’m just soaking in all the work of all these incredible ladies.

What’s your go-to excuse?
I know I’m an actor, but I’m a pretty horrible liar. I’m, like, a very dopey person. So even if I try to make an excuse, inevitably in like 30 or 60 seconds, I’ll be like, “You know what? To be honest I just didn’t wake up early enough or to be honest the baby was throwing up all over me” or something like that. Just knowing that I’m sort of incapable of that, I try not to get myself into situations unless they are real genuine emergencies. One of my friends once said, “You know, you don’t have to tell everybody everything!”

What’s the last song you downloaded?
The truth probably is, I directed a video for M83 called “Claudia Lewis,” so I’m going to say “Claudia Lewis.” That might even be the truth, I think!

Do you have any tattoos?
No, I don’t.

How many telephone numbers do you have memorized?
Countless, and I’ll tell you why, I don’t know how to program a number into my phone. It’s really pathetic. I’ve been with my husband [Seth Gabel] for 12 years and at that point cellphones were just coming out, so I would rely upon him to program numbers in, and when he couldn’t, I would just memorize it. I freak people out all the time because I’ll meet up with a friend from college and they’ll just be like, “Call me sometime, I have my old number, do you still have it in your phone?” And I’ll be like, “Oh yeah, that was 855-9774,” and they’re like, “WHAT?” So yeah, it’s weird!

If you could give advice to a younger version of yourself, what would it be?
Trust your instincts and don’t question yourself as much because I always have trusted my thoughts and then I would spend five days questioning my thoughts. Like, is this the right thing? Should I go through with this? Let me ask 20 of my closest friends. And I feel like all of that anxiety really doesn’t go with me, so I would just say trust your gut and go with it and don’t look back.

When’s the last time you cried?
I actually cried earlier today talking about a moment in “Life of Pi” that I found very moving.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” I had never watched it, and then when I was super-pregnant I was overdue and I actually had a pretty bad injury and I got put on bed rest and I couldn’t move. And I asked my friends, “What should I do?” Because I just wanted to be productive. They’re like, “Listen, you got a 5-year-old running around, on bed rest, you just need to do what you want to do most. What is that? Do you want to read magazines? Like what do you want to do?” And I was like, “I just want to watch the Kardashians, I never watched it before! I just really want to see what this is all about.” And I have since watched every single episode. I love it … I love it.

So, if you could ask Kim Kardashian one question what would it be?
Oh my gosh. What would it be? I would probably go a little deep and say, “How do you keep yourself sane?” You know, it’s a lot. There’s a lot of attention and criticism. I would say, “What are your strategies, what are your tips? Do you just not go on the Internet or do you have a perspective that just really grounds you? Or do you kind of have a light philosophy?” I would probably go there and ask something like that because whatever your opinion is of their family, they’ve kept their family together and they love each other and stay very strong and seem to stay very united. I’m just very interested in that because what they’ve been through is something that not a lot of people have gone through.

That brings up a great point, how do you feel about the criticism that comes along with Kim these days … dealing with things like celebrity pregnancies and post-baby bodies?
I don’t know what a solution is, but I really wish that people wouldn’t do that because it’s genuinely bullying. And for some reason people are accepting that form of bullying and it doesn’t just affect celebrities. It’s online and kids with one another on Facebook. It’s just not acceptable. It’s cruel, it’s malicious and if saying that out loud to a person’s face wouldn’t be tolerated, then it shouldn’t be tolerated when it’s done anonymously. I think it’s kind of a shallow side of our culture and our society and I hope at some point we evolve beyond that because it hurts a lot of people.

And if you were on a reality show, what would it be called?
“Hypomanic.” That’s a sensationalized version of me to really draw

Cam Gigandet to Star in CBS Show “Reckless”.

d7d4ed7de7e200ce8e48c2c0062562ef

Twilight’s Cam Gigandet, aka James has scooped up a new role for an upcoming legal drama to be aired on CBS at the end of the year or 2014.

Reckless is another legal show, this time set in Charleston where a Yankee litigator and a Southern city attorney struggle to hide their intense personal and of course physical attraction while clashing professionally over a police sex scandal. Romeo & Juliet, in the south, with a law twist, anyone?

Cam Gigandet plays the litigator, while Shawn Hatosy (who is definitely available to continue on with the series now that TNT has axed Southland), Michael Gladis, Kim Wayans, Georgina Haig, Anna Wood, Gregory Harrison, and Adam Rodriguez round out the cast.

From the network:

Reckless is a sultry legal drama set in Charleston, S.C., where a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a charming Southern attorney must hide their intense mutual attraction as a police sex scandal threatens to tear the city apart. Jamie Sawyer (Wood) is enviously cool, confident and armed with south-side-of-Chicago street-smarts as she takes on the good ol’ boys in the South. Her handsome courtroom rival, Roy Rayder (Gigandet), a divorced father of two, embodies the Old South and is the newly minted City Attorney, thanks to his influential former father-in-law, Dec Fortnum (Harrison). When disgraced cop Lee Anne Marcus (Haig) hires Jamie to represent her in a lawsuit against the police department, Jamie and Roy discover that Lee Anne is at the epicenter of a sinister case with dire implications for the members of the Charleston P.D. Heading that department is Deputy Chief Holland Knox (Gladis), a family man who radiates integrity. Working under him are Terry McCandless (Hatosy), a cocky and corrupt detective and Preston Cruz (Rodriguez), Jamie’s well-respected boyfriend who might not be all that he appears. Helping Jamie is her confidante and paralegal, Vi (Wayans), an expert at digging up case-winning information. As Jamie and Roy spar in and out of the courtroom, dark secrets simmer behind every door and threaten to tarnish the genteel facade of seductive Charleston.”
