I got into Twilight after being a part of the Harry Potter online fandom for many years. Someone recommended Twilight to me back in early 2006 and I was hooked. Luckily, New Moon was about to be released but I was literally salivating waiting for Eclipse to come to print. It seemed to take forever. Around this time casting started for the first movie and so I was there when the arguments started on whether Robert Pattinson was right for the role of Edward Cullen. Still being part of the HP world and having already seen him in other UK TV roles, I was very pro Rob as Edward, but knew that the proof of the pudding would be in seeing him bring the character to life on screen. I was lucky enough to be at the first ever screening of Twilight in the UK (press screening) and along with a couple of friends we held our breath as the opening credits rolled! The minute Edward walked slow-mo style into that cafeteria, we knew he had it in the bag! That day, UK Twilight was born!
My favourite book in the series is Eclipse, although Twilight will always have a place in my heart being the first to introduce me to the world. As much as I love all the movies, I think Catherine Hardwicke’s vision of Twilight is my favourite. My favourite character is Charlie Swan and I think Billy Burke should have had a career in comedy since his timing is perfect! Saying that though, I am and always will be firmly and irrevocably, Team Edward!
Twilight has brought me friends from all over the world. People who I feel blessed to know and share part of their lives with. The UK fandom continues to grow and one of my greatest pleasures is attending the UK conventions where I get to meet up with many of the friends I have made through the series as well as meet many members of the cast.
It will be a sad day when Twilight comes to it’s conclusion through the movie Breaking Dawn, Part 2, but I hope to continue UK Twilight by focusing on the careers of the cast we’ve come to love and of course the author who brought it to us in the first place!

I came to UK Twilight from the UK Twilight Fans Facebook Group, which I was co-administrator of, after deciding to amalgamate the two pages/groups for a better way to bring news to the fandom. Some UK Fans may remember me from organising a private screening of New Moon at the O2, in London, back in November 2009.
I stumbled upon Twilight really. I’d seen the trailer for it on the TV in December 2008 and thought that it would be a good film to take my honorary niece to, so I did – I didn’t realise that it would be me, a 29yr old married woman and a room full of teenage girls…seriously there wasn’t a spare seat in the cinema screen! – Anyway to cut a long story short I came out wanting to read the book, and my niece was disappointed there wasn’t enough blood! As soon as I got home I called my local Waterstones to see if they had the box set in stock, which luckily they did – however it was the last one! So they next day I collected them and read Twilight over my Christmas holiday in Florida (very odd sitting by a pool in 86f heat but being completely absorbed by rainy wet Forks, WA!), and the rest of the books pretty much immediately after, although I must admit to dragging out finishing Breaking Dawn though as I didn’t want it to end!
It’s a tough call to say which of the books is my favourite, but I think if I had to choose I’d say Twilight purely because of the romance factor and the anticipation of it. Now if Midnight Sun was ever finished then I think that would top the fav list for sure. Edward is just so more interesting! Eclipse is my second favourite.
If you asked me which of the movies is my favourite, well that would probably be Twilight too, as I love the feel and look of it, however after watching Breaking Dawn Part 1 it has almost tied with Twilight! New Moon is a close second and… Eclipse, well I really wanted to love it, but…
Since becoming a Twilighter/Twi-hard, whatever term you want to use, I have made numerous friends in the fandom and it has even brought me my bff, Jo, who is a cornish version of myself! Funny how these things are almost like they are meant to be! My love for Twilight has also gotten me interview by the magazine Time Out London which was an experience to say the least! Oh and just in case you were wondering… I’m unconditionally and irrevocably Team Edward!

I first got interested in Twilight on a long bus journey from London - Birmingham; I was getting bored and restless after about 20 minutes stuck on the stuffy, smelly bus and my friend had packed some books with her. She said I could read one and so I jumped at the chance – there was no way I could just sit there for 5 hours doing nothing. The book I picked out was the biggest and it just so happened to be Breaking Dawn. Once I had started reading it I couldn’t put it down. Even though I had no idea who the characters were and what got them to those moments I was reading about I didn’t care. I managed to read the whole thing over the course of the Weekend. I instantly fell in love with it and when I got home to do some research and buy the other books in the series I found that they were making them in to movies, I manged to read the entire saga within a week. I stayed out for hours at the UK Twilight premiere just to get a glance at Rob, Kristen and Catherine. I have been a fan of the movies and books ever since.

As a cosplayer and after seeing Twilight I decided I’d like to do a costume from it. I looked nothing like any of the girls, or the boys for that matter but the easiest character for me to cosplay was Edward due to my hair length and previous experience cross playing. And that is really where my Twilight story begins; I have since read the first three books and seen the corresponding movies, so far my favourite book and movie is Eclipse, though I thought Edward’s hair was completely fail in it. I for one prefer the Twilight bouffant and have kept that hairstyle no matter which Edward costume I do.

I came across UK Twilight last year after looking for decent Twilight website with UK news. I started reading The Twilight Saga in 2009, I blame my obsession on my hormones as I was pregnant when I starting reading! After reading the first book I went and bought the DVD. It was watched numerous times in the first week! My love for all things Twilight has brought me some great friends and some unforgettable experiences.

I have always loved the idea of vampires and the supernatural and was a huge Harry Potter fan. This was where I discovered Rob, I thought he was gorgeous even in his Cedric Diggory days
. I kind of discovered Twilight by accident when I saw the trailer for it in the cinema and thought it looked amazing and of course having Rob in it just added to the appeal. I promptly went before seeing the film to get the available books and my obsession has grown from there! I was smitten with Edward from the first moment and quite frankly this has just grown and grown. I always have been and always will be Team Edward. I believe in reading books before seeing films as the books are always loads better (IMHO) but I love everything about the Twilight series.
