Stephenie Meyer is author of the Twilight Saga and The Host was the biggest selling author of both 2008 and 2009. She sold over 29 millions books in 2008 alone, with Twilight being the best selling book of the year. A further 26.5 million books were sold in 2009 making her the first author to achieve this feat.

The idea of Twilight came to Stephenie in a dream on 2 June 2003. The dream was about a human girl and a vampire who was in love with her but thirsted for her blood. That dream became Chapter 13 in Twilight and I guess we could say the rest is history!

Not only has Stephenie Meyer penned The Twilight Saga but she has also written The Host which is another outstanding novel showing just how talented she is. This book is currently being made into a movie and Stephenie is keen to write more books following on from this first one.
